Caller ID was "Burke". Called the number back. It's the "Survey Information Line". According to the recording "we conduct survey's on a wide variety of subjects". The recording also said. "if you missed our call, we will be calling you back at a later time". They won't be calling me again, blocking this number.
It just read Burke. I did not pick up. The DNC list will help with some calls you get. But you must know that they have hundreds of numbers they can use. You block one, they have another. I know it's annoying and you'd love to get your hands on them to give them a swift kick. I pick up and hang up to stop the ringing. Some companies I heard can get into your computer if you answer the call. Others use your recorded voice to order from them and bill you. The best one is a voice asks "Can you hear me?" You say "Yes" and they use that yes as an instrument to bill you with proof you said yes. Don't answer these scammers. They want your money.
Pleasant woman asked to speak to someone between the ages of 35 and 54. I said no one here in that age group, I'm 80. She said she was conducting a survey about banking and had just a few questions for me and asked if I wanted to proceed.I repeated what I had said, had to yell I'M EIGHTY before she said oh never mind.
267-603-3939 BURKE -- Area code 267 is for Bucks and Montgomery counties in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The BURKE that you see coming up on your caller-ID is short for BURKE TELECOM SERVICES. Ironically, they sell businesses a system that screens calls and redirects them elsewhere in your company or to file 13 if you wish. They called me at 7:40 PM during my supper, being the 123rd Pest-Call that I have received since March 1st, 2016. This may also be a spoofed number on your Caller-ID because BURKE is located Oak Park IL and has a different area code. The DNC list only works for legitimate telemarketers, not these rogue robo or pest-calls. As for the DNC cutting down the number that I have already received, I do not think that 123 such calls is a reduced number. QUESTION: Why can't Clinton or Trump make a campaign promise to end these nuisance calls to Americans or fine the telephone service for allow such calls to get through to us? Now, I would certainly vote for the candidate who did that.
