Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association". Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty. I asked them if they could send some info in writing. Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail. I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing. Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.
Sounds like a scam to me. Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!
a female called my house number from this line around 8:15 Tues. night. We live in NC. She asked for my husband by name as if she knew him, when I said no, this is Laura she said ok and hung up. When I looked it up I found it as an unpublished number from Grand Rapids, MI.
Shows up on my caller ID every single day. No messages left. Called last night and when I picked up man asked for Mr or Mrs Gabriel. Told him no one here by that name. He told me if I gave him my name, then he could take my number off their call list. Told him I wasn't going to give him my name and he said, Fine, then you'll just keep getting these phone calls.
