Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association". Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty. I asked them if they could send some info in writing. Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail. I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing. Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.
Sounds like a scam to me. Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!
Also got a call at 8:30 pm and was disconnected after I picked up on third ring. Caller ID said Courtesy 101. Tried calling back but phone rang and rang and rang ad infinitum. Can we not query phone company to find out who this is and report them??
