Some guy calling from "US Deputy Sheriff's Association". Said that they needed money for bulletproof vests and officers lost in the line of duty. I asked them if they could send some info in writing. Guy said that he needed a pledge from me before he could send me some materials by mail. I said that I'll pledge something as soon as I get something in writing. Guy said "ok, thank you" and hung up.
Sounds like a scam to me. Oh, yeah, Stranger, let me give you my credit card number so you can take all of my hard-earned money out of my account!
VERY IMPORTANT: Every time that these people call, go to the "Do not Call" website and file a complaint. The address is www.donotcall.gov. They will ask for the number that called you, the time of the call, and the name of the company.
