I actually had the same problem, I was so out of it that I confirmed the zip code. I've cancelled my card, but I was hoping you could tell me how you dealt with the problem, since your post was made about a year ago I thought you might be able to help.
Received a total of five calls from this number; did not answer since I was not familiar with the number. After the fourth time, I called it back and got a recording stating they were following up on a recent order and it was just a courtesy call - did not identify themselves nor the company they were representing. The fifth time they called, I answered and there was no one on the other end. Have not received any more calls.
I just recently started getting these calls, too. It all started after I had posted some items for sale through an online classfied ad through ksl.com. I got a very poorly written email stating that they were interested in one of my items, which was the most expensive item I had listed. They said they would send me a certified check for the item and that a courier would deliver the check and pick up the item. They needed all my information (name, address, phone #s). Be careful of posting classified ads. Unless you bought anything online through a suspicious vendor (e.g. the whole Acai berry scam), then you shouldn't worry about your CC information with these people.
Have received several calls from this number in the past week and every time I called back it was an automated message stating the call was in regards to a recent order I had made on-line...I hadn't made any recent orders on-line. When I answered the phone today when they called it was a lady stating she was from Vista Services and that I was selected to receive $120 in gasoline vouchers and some smart shoppers program, and that I had to pay to ship this to me and they would charge me the $2.95 s&h. She was rude and when I questioned her about having to pay for s&h when I was "selected" to receive something she got even more pushy and said that I can spend this anywhere and that I can cancel the "smart shoppers" whenever I wanted to as long as it was within the 30-day trial offer. I then told her that I had not bought anything on-line and she gave me the last 4-digits of a mastercard number and so I checked my card and the numbers did not match up...while I was doing this I was quiet and she kept saying hello you're quiet, are you there and I kept telling her to hold on I was checking on this. The numbers did not match and I told her that I had no such number and she said oh, we must have the wrong number and hung up. Sounds like a scam to me and even when I questioned her exactly what this Vista Svc was she said she is on a recorded line to look out for scams.
