The call said they were from the IRS, this is a scam. Don't call the number back instead file complaint with ftc.gov/complaint. Let the government do their job, don't call the number. If you're really concerned then contact the IRS and ask them. Otherwise just consider yourself enlightened and disregard. The IRS will not contact you by phone for any reason.
Twice within a couple hours I got this same call - This number needs to be shut down, I don't know why nothing is being done about it. (also got the same call months ago)
I received a message with this number as well. These people are changing their tactics around. Last time I received these calls I was told that I was under surveillance and that the sheriffs would come arrest me. This is a total SCAM!! I have reported previous calls to the FCC.
Got a message that was cut off and just had the # so I called back. Someone who barely spoke English told me they were with the IRS and that there was a lawsuit that had been filed against me. He then asked if I had received the information they had previously mailed out. I said no this was the first I'd heard of it. He then told me he was calling on behalf of Ronnie Walters office and his "ID #" was 13962. He asked my name and repeated it back to me. Finally I said look, what do you want and he got frustrated with me and responded with "what do I want? Geez!" And then he hung up on me!! LOL I called back, no answer. Awesome.
