I received a call from 281-982-2498 and there immediately was a pre-recorded message telling me that "everything on my credit card was in order", but in order to have the lowest rate possible, I needed to call this number which was also the number which came up on the caller ID. When you call the number back, you are told the number is no longer in existence. This makes the phone call totally irrelevant, unless, of course, there is some way for these joker spammers to obtain information about your phone merely by calling the number. I recommend that each and every person receiving calls like this to file a complaint with the FTC, even if the number called is not on the Do Not Call Registry since calls like this with a pre-recorded message are no longer legal.
Just got a voicemail from these people indicating that I have overdue credit card debt and this is my final notice. The talked about lowering my credit card interest rates. The thing I found amusing is they didn't even identify what company they were calling from. SCAM!!!!
This is the third time they have called my cell phone. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST but lately I have been receiving unwanted calls on my land line and cell phone.
I tried to talk to a live human to figure out who there were. A woman got on the line and 1st thing said, "Do you want to lower your credit card interest rate". I said, "No, actually I'd li.....". Click. She hung up.
When I tried to call back....the number was disconnected.
