They've called my mobile twice in the last two days. I was suspicious of their claim they are with the CDC. They wanted me to take a survey lasting 25-30 minutes.
This number has called my cell 4 times in the last week. They claim to be from the CDC and performing a survey on smoking. Today they called again and I spoke with a real person, who again claimed to be with the CDC, performing a survey. I asked what CDC stands for, and she said "Center for Disease Control". I said that the CDC is a federal agency and calling my cell phone; that is very unusual. Also told her I did not believe she is from the CDC. She said I could opt out of the survey, and I told her I wanted them to stop calling my cell phone. She hung up.
When I Googled the phone number I got FORCS Study at 490 Fleet St in Rockville, MD, but nothing mentioned about the CDC. I wonder why they feel it necessary to misrepresent themselves. I smell a telemarketer scam.

This is the second call I received from this number. I didn't answer either. However, they left a message on their first call that said they were from the CDC and conducting a survey on tobacco smoking from random cell numbers, AND will call back another time.
I think this is most likely a SCAM because they didn't give their name or phone number.
