Keep getting calls from this number on my cell and not answering when it comes in. The message left is that it's the CDC and they "will call back another time". My number is on the "do not call" list. I really don't think this is legitimate.
This number keep calling me and left two messages saying that they were representing the CDC and wished to ask me questions about smoking and tobacco use. I have already asked them to stop calling me. It did stop briefly, but has since then resumed. I have now been called every day this week, including weekends. I don't know about you, but I don't know about government employees working weekends.
The company is Access Intelligence, LLC, a Delaware company formerly doing business as PBI Media. In recent federal procurements the company has represented itself as IHG Global, Inc. (dba SRI Consulting), though the System for Award Management was updated to reflect the information provided on July 29, 2012 to be Access Intelligence. It is a violation of federal regulations for a contractor to fail to identify its status or mislead the public into believing the individual is a federal government employee. It is a violation of THE PRIVACY ACT OF 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a -- As Amended for the government, or a contractor acting on its behalf, to disclose personally identifiable information stored in federal systems of records.
Some of you may be like me - a person having a cell phone number stored in a number of such systems of records. With no more than the cell phone number it is possible to identify me, my business address, job title, and other very sensitive information.
