The firm that called me was Machol & Johannes, LLC. They said they were a law firm calling about collections. They did not ask for anyone who lives here by name, and upon researching them, none of the people listed on their website of www.mjfirm.com has a Bar number in Colorado where they are based. They "do business" in Colorado, Washington state, Oregon, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Oklahoma.
They keep changing the name of the business, so watch out very carefully for them. Names in the business are:
Gronowski, Arianne (Attorney) Johannes, Randall DKaplan, James A.Machol, Jacques A. IIIMachol, Jacques A. Jr.Spencer, Chad (Attorney). Look for any combination of these names on your caller ID.

I am curious as to how you came to find that they are associated with Machol & Johannes? I googled this number because it was on a summons delivered to me and they were listed as the attorneys for the Plaintiff. They are trying to collect on a school loan debt and tacked on an amazing $2000 collection fee. My debt was $4500.
So this number 303-830-0075 belongs to them now, no mention of the other firm. The mailing address is 717 17th Street, Suite 2300, Denver CO 80202. Basically right next to the address you listed. M&J also have a long history of being a scumbag collections agency disguised as attorneys according to other internet posts.
Are they the same people but have now just changed thier names?
I've had them call repeatedly and I googled the number and it's from M&J according to google anyway. Interestingly enough though the number they leave is different from caller ID which is a New Mexico number, but they leave a Colorado number. Shady.

Why would the government hire a crappy company like this to collect tax debts?! Isn't that the IRS auditors' jobs?!?!
