The firm that called me was Machol & Johannes, LLC. They said they were a law firm calling about collections. They did not ask for anyone who lives here by name, and upon researching them, none of the people listed on their website of www.mjfirm.com has a Bar number in Colorado where they are based. They "do business" in Colorado, Washington state, Oregon, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Oklahoma.
They keep changing the name of the business, so watch out very carefully for them. Names in the business are:
Gronowski, Arianne (Attorney) Johannes, Randall DKaplan, James A.Machol, Jacques A. IIIMachol, Jacques A. Jr.Spencer, Chad (Attorney). Look for any combination of these names on your caller ID.
The BBB will generally list "Alternative Business Names" on their website .... I think there are 5 or 6 different names that Machol & Johannes LLC operate under.
Most states don't require Collections Law Firms to be licensed as a Collection Agency, only that the lawyers are members of the State Bar .... However, when it comes to filing a suit against you they HAVE TO file it in the county where you live & therefore will have legal representation in your state.
