It is the "Pay day Loan Scam" that has been around for several years. Just hang up, they can't do anything unless you give them information on the phone. Why bother and waste your time getting upset? I've been getting calls since last December, have told them I know they are a scam but they still keep calling me. I just delete the messages and never answer unknown calls. The calls stopped in May and then this week have started up again.
It was a man claiming that I owed money and threatened to get me fired from my job if I didn't pay up. Said he would ruin my credit and that a case was being filed by their attorney. When confronted he wouldn't give me any other information.
Caller claimed that my husband had 3 legal allegations against him including... check fraud, fedral banking fraud and one other. We have had a call like this in the past and TRUST me it is 100% fraudulent. I consulted with a lawyer and with detectives and both said DO NOT give them any info or any hope. The WILL take your money and disappear!!!
I had the same thing happen to me and I got really scared and then started thinking that it was probably a scam but didn't know how to prove it. But I sent them money and now I got another call saying that I owed more money from a payday loan that I don't have and I called the Attorney General's office and they told me not to send any money. Thank You for the info. It sure does make me feel better.
