They called and said they were my grandchild who was in jail and needed money to get out. He supposedly traveled to Florida for a funeral and got arrested for a DUI. He said a lawyer would call back with details. A "lawyer" called back a couple minutes later with additional details about the arrest and said he called grandpa because he didn't want to call his mom and dad. We said we needed to call his mom first to make sure. He was home in bed, and calls back to the number went direct to voicemail.
Got my first call at 4:09PM Central Time, today, SUNDAY !!! My number is a cell phone of 954-829-79xx, which is Ft Lauderdale, FL. My number is recorded almost nowhere and has been in service for almost 10 years, so this is an auto-dialer doing RANDOM numbers. PEOPLE - it is very important that you list at least part of your number like I did (at least AC and PREFIX), so if some AG of some state (or private attorney) tries to go after these guys, this info can be used. Now as for these guys, someone try to 'play-along' like your interested, so these fools call back and become TRACEABLE in some fashion. Even if someone (as in an independent company) is paying for leads and benefits from those leads being generated illegally, they can be compelled to divulge their source, and everyone here can benefit from a future Class-Action Lawsuit, as our IP Addresses are completely traceable to who we are and the FACT that we were all Victims of these illegal acts. Now as for having a Florida number, I get some random calls for mostly cruise lines, etc, leaving out of Florida - so I have NO FAITH in the Florida AG's Office for any tangible follow-thru, as they could be SUING for LOTS OF MONEY that the state desperately needs, so they, as in the FL AG, is VERY WEAK in its thoughts processes'. (sorry, that's how it is - you all missing the cash-cow on this one Mr. AG of FL)
