These people called my daughter's home, my ex wife, and who knows who else. They threatened to file suit if I did not return their call within an hour. When asked how they got these phone numbers the said they they were listed as contacts. I told them they were never listed as contacts. They alleged that I owed Verizon money for service 12 years ago and they had punched the debt.
These folks are some sort of ultra-aggressive debt collectors. They threatened to serve papers on me, other family members, and my family member's job (issue is with the family member, not me). Offer was to hold off on serving a civil complaint for ONE HOUR while I got in touch with said family member. The number they gave to call back is totally different than their calling number.
They had also called my family member at cell and work numbers, but refused to leave messages. I mean, if it's so super critical we're serving legal papers, why not leave a message TO THE PERSON YOU ARE TRYING TO REACH DIRECTLY.
Probably is some age-old debt, based on the name they asked for. This is just...sheer, utter stupidity. Threatening people's family members and job status should be against FCC rules. (It is, I believe.)
Their call back number was different, 844-769-2971.
A woman from this number called my ex husband today telling him they were trying to find me to serve me papers for a civil suit. He told her that he was my ex and didn't have any current information on me.
The only number that he got was the number she called from.
And now that I think about it my aunt in MN got a letter in the mail addressed to her about a critical credit issue with me and they were trying to reach me. I don't have any credit issues since years ago.
This has to be the same place.
First I am not hard to find. And what business do they have harassing my family members?
These people called my family member talking a about a civil legal issue. She asked them to call back with contact information and no on e her called but they were threatening legal action. I have not received any correspondence with them.
Sketch-[***] collection company trying to collect a 13 year old $70 verizon bill. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS PEOPLE! They claim to be filing a "civil complaint." (Oooh scary!) I know this charge fell off my credit report a looooooong time ago and I don't have to pay a dime.
They called my parents too and scared them as well with their "civil complaint" BS.
