These people called my daughter's home, my ex wife, and who knows who else. They threatened to file suit if I did not return their call within an hour. When asked how they got these phone numbers the said they they were listed as contacts. I told them they were never listed as contacts. They alleged that I owed Verizon money for service 12 years ago and they had punched the debt.
Got a call from this #,woman asked for me but it was in my madin name . Threatened to start calling people in my family and going to their work. Said if I didn't take care of this in an hour she would put it in ,that someone would be coming to my house. Transferred me some guy and he said this was from a verizon bill from 2002!! I never had Verizon in 2002!! He knew some information about me,previous houses I've lived in and wanted a credit card #. He pushed for the credit card a few xs. Said we need to get this taken care of now before they will take me to court. He said this was a landline that was almost $1000!! When he called back a couple hours later I Google the number which told me an address to where the call was from. Google Earthed it and it was from a house!! So scary!!
Just received this call while at lunch and a girl states "is this someone that can take legal docs for a NAME" I hung up and then my father call me saying these people just call them and told them they're going to press charges and send him and I to court.. I told him don't worry I work collections in Texas... There's no way and this has to be old because I don't have credit issues now..
This number called and the woman on the other end immediately began asking for someone they could fax legal papers to in regards to a civil suit being filed. I instructed them to remove this number and never call back again.
Same as most of you. Told me there was some civil action and that I needed to call another number to try and settle out of court. I told her she was running a pretty lame scam and hung up!
