I just got a call from 305-587-2091. They said that they were calling to lower my interest rate and that they were calling from cardmember services. I asked the guy if he was calling from my visa card services, how come he didnt know what my current interest rate was and he hung up. I called back and got the message that this number is an unattended mailbox and it could not recive any incoming calls>>>SCAMS..
Today, in my area anyway, they are a "security system" calling - ha ha people don't you get it yet? They are trying to scam people. Don't even bother talking to them - they are trying to find suckers. Only thing you can do is report them to the FCC, FTC and your State's Attorney General Office - DO IT -they will only investigate if they get enough complaints. There's an on-line form and/or you can call their toll-free numbers. By the way, the telephone numbers these crooks use are hijacked and therefore, you can never track them down yourself. Some of the callers are from overseas!
It doesn't matter about blocking - they change their numbers every few days or weeks. I've tracked about 25 different numbers in 3 months time. You can't keep blocking forever. Report to the FTC, FCC and Attorney General. Unfortunately that's the best we can do right now.
You must file a complaint with the FTC, FCC and Attorney General - the DoNotCall list does not prevent these people from calling. That's why they need to be prosecuted. If enough people complain, action will be taken (at least that's what they told me at the FTC).
No, the DNC list isn't enough. You must file (on-line or call toll-free) with the FTC, FCC and Attorney General's office. They only act if they get enough complaints. Take the time to do it.
