Hello fellow card holder, I'm sorry you are experiencing such headaches. I'm surprised they are still calling you when your account is in good standing. Doesn't sound like them at all, but then again I'm not surprised. Something in their system must not be up-to-date and they should be made very aware of the annoying calls and to make sure the payments are all posted to your account. I hope by now since the date of your posting, the issue has been resolved.
They've saved my credit. If you're going to be bad off for $200, the don't get ANY credit card. For the love of G*d, it's common sense people...
As for this pay it, close it, pay them off CRAP... Don't do that if it's a long standing account. Go Here: http://www.myfico.com/CreditEducation/ and read about why you SHOULDN'T do that if it's an older account. You'd only be hurting your own credit score. Multiple times over.
Just do the math, if it's right for you to close the account, do it. But don't do it because the idiot above me is a scare artist. DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
Yeah David your advice is great. Is it collector David or just a-hole David? No matter what people may or MAY NOT owe NO ONE has the right to HARASS anyone! Six plus calls a day are definitely harassment. File complaints with your state AG office and the FTC and also look into suing them on your own. When you take action against these jerks it costs them time and money and they go away. PROBLEM SOLVED!
They call about 3 to 5 times a day and nobody is ever on the other line. I called and told them to take this number off the list and they told me they can't do that. Then the man got very rude and hung up on me. The person they are trying to reach i have no idea who they are.
It's Total Card credit card company. they are calling me several times a day. never leaves a message. i just dont answer. they will eventually go away. No sense in getting all upset just because a couple telemarketers call you...i believe the universe will play out as it should. You can also have the number blocked through your phone company or cell phone company. be proactive. :)
