Definitely a bad player. This number called my cell. When called back I received a recording asking for date of birth, social security number and full name under the guise of the "opt out" program. I hadn't called the "do not call" number for over a year. Very slick recorded voice but I believe it's a more sophisticated version of Phishing.
Called the number back, and asked to opt out for 5 years. I put in 123456789 (fake ss#). It asked me for name, address, DOB...etc. I put in all obviously fake stuff... just to see where it goes.
At the end of the prompts, it wanted me to leave a message where I re-stated everything on to what seemed to be an answering machine (there was a beep). Name, ss number, dob, full address, and phone number...etc. In other words, everything they need to take over my identity.
Wow - this one is a doozy. "Please enter your social security number to be taken off our calling list" - I really hope people don't fall for this! (if you fall for this, please send me your credit card # and I'll tell you what to do) ;)
Received call on my cell phone. When I called back, automated system said I had reached the consumer credit reporting agency opt out. I was asked for my SS#. I gave fictitious number and was then prompted for phone number, home address, and name.
This could very possibly be phishing for your personal info. Please report if you receive one.
