UPDATE: I took the call from them at 8 a.m. this morning and played into their game to get as much info as possible. They are reading from scripts, and if you ask them anything that goes off-script, they transfer you. I spoke to 3 people this morning: Louis Wilson, Heather Lawson and Ben Foster. In looking up Heather Lawson, I see complaints about this scam dating back to 2006!! Why can't we stop this?! This personal information should not be released when people apply for a payday loan.
When I asked for an address, they gave me 42 Broadway 5th Floor NY, NY 10004, and said they are the DCA Law Firm - Department of Corporate Affairs. In actuality, there IS a DCA at this address, but it is the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.
When "Ben Foster" no longer felt like making up stories to answer my questions (such as "If this was in collections, why haven't I received a written notice within 5 days of initial contact, as per the law under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)?"), he said they would go ahead and process my file and we could deal with it at the courthouse on Monday. I sweetly answered "Oh yes, let's go ahead and do that." He was a bit surprised and then asked for my attorney's info, so I said "Yes, he definitely wants to talk to you" and gave him the info. Then I told him that we were aware this is a scam, that I have already reported him to the FTC and FBI, and that all calls were being recorded. I told him to never ever call here again or he would be the one showing up at the courthouse. I hung up. No callback yet. I am sick to my stomach with what these people are doing to scared, financially-strapped people.
they tried to get money from me. have my ss# and information.. scared the crap out of me and if I wouldnt of looked it up, i would of gave them the money 646-448-0705
I just got a call from 315-519-2921 at my work phone. I don't understand how he knows my name and work number as this is an internal number only and not published publicly. I will be printing out these posts and also going to the police. This man claims i need to get my lawyer in touch with him immediately but I have no clue what he is talking about.
So Nicole Allen from LLC Law Office just called me at work from this number and said that this was about Cash Partners of America. She read and "affidavit" against me and said that I was going to be picked up for "fraud" and "money Laundering". I told her to send me something in the mail or give me a website address and she said that was not possible. I told her not to contact me at work again. She started spouting that I would be arrested in the morning and I said to do what you gotta do but do not call me again. I hung up. Do not pay these people any money it is a scam!
A "Nick Williams called me on my cell phone asking me if I was related to......... and he mentioned my fathers name. Thinking something had happened to my Dad, I replied that he was my Father. "Nick Williams" then proceeded to tell me that my father was being sued by Cash Partners of America and had 3 criminal charges against him for overdue payday loans. What? I asked why he was calling me and he said that if I did not make sure that my father called his office, I would be held responsible. He also threatened me by saying that he had my Social Security number. This is an absolute scam and I will be reporting this to the police. Should you get a call from this 213 928 3065 number I would recommend doing the same!!!
I just got a call from Jacob Martin from LLC Law Office claiming that I borrowed money and I
have to pay $5000.00 in court on Monday and this is going against my credit. He said I need to resolved
this matter with him. when i asked him how much money was given to me he couldn't say, he call names that were used for referenced and said they would have to pay or a judgement against them
would be filed. I do not know who these people are, Jocob Martin is very arrogrant on the phone,
you cannot ask any questions until he was finished threatening you.. He mentioned that i need to find myself a lawyer and let him call him. I then call him back and asked him which court I have to go to
