Total scam.  How could there be a "complaint" about a SSN.   Why would a debt collector have anything to do with SS?  SS is handled solely by the federal government.     Ignore these calls and block them.  No one forfeits rights for a failure to return a call.  Total debt scamming operation.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they are bothering you,

Report them:

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

No such thing as "losing your rights" for not returning a phone call.Last time I checked this is the USA and not N.Korea.In fact you have a "right to remain silent"  even if the police or FBI question you and even when you remain silent to them you still do not "lose your rights".So refusing or failing to speak to some imbecile debt collector is not a rights losing scenario. This is obviously a scam do not even waste your time or breath returning the call.Ignore and he/she will move on to the next potential victim.

Attorney General Strange cautions, “Please know that any call you may receive from the Attorney General’s Office attempting to collect money is a scam. Furthermore, debt collectors cannot arrest you. If, for any reason, law enforcement or the courts have an issue with you, you would usually be notified in writing and be ordered to contact the clerk’s office, either in person or by telephone. Impersonating a law enforcement officer and misrepresenting the judicial process to frighten and trick people out of money is a serious crime, and we hope anyone who receives such a call will report it to their local law enforcement.”

I received a call from Mrs. Fisher, saying she was from NSL, com, concerning a loan that I had in 2012, she proceeded to tell me it was deposited in my TD bank account, at the time, I told her that I am not working, I am on low income, she said she could  probably get the company to settle for $500, to be paid today. I told her I didn't have the money to be paid today, and that I couldn't afford to pay $500, but I could pay about $20 starting Tomorrow, she began saying that then I would have to pay the full amount which is $1000 and something, I told her I couldn't afford the whole amount, I have other bills I have to pay, if I pay you the whole amount I would not have no place to live, then we just kept going back in forth me explaining my situation, and her not trying to be cooperative, she told me, that they don't have to work with me, and she kept stressing that they were going to send the sheriff to my house to arrest me.  Also she precede during the conversation to say " Oh your daughter looked beautiful", I said my daughter look beautiful for her social", I said my daughter look beautiful for her social? she said " Yeah with the green dress on, if you have money for that, you have money to pay for what you owe", I sad her dad paid for that. After we made the arrangements, I told her I her she was infringing on my rights, looking up on my social media page, she said she didn't do that, someone else did.  When I got off the phone I talked to my aunt, and she said that doesn't sound right, so I called the Federal Trades Comission, who told me that if it was a legal creditor ask for a professional license number, all creditors are suppose to have one.  So I called back and asked, and Ms. Fisher told me that they weren't a creditor company, they were a legal litigation firm, so therefore they don't have a license, and she said they don't have a address just a PO box.  I hung up and called the State Attorney's Office, and spoke with the woman there, and explained everything, she told me that any creditor is suppose to send it by mail, and told me to file a complaint and don't forget to mention they were on my facebook, and bought up my personal business.  I called NSL back and told Ms. Fisher to don't take anything out of my account, because I don't know if they were legal or not, and that they are to send me a letter, she said "ok" and hung up the phone abruptly, I called back three time to make sure they canceled the transaction, that would be taken out on the 10th of June, and the  first of July, and I got no answer, it was like they had caller ID or something.  I tried back later at about 4pm and Ms.Stacy Gibbons answered the phone, and I said I am calling to make sure that the transaction was canceled, and she said "Oh Nicole, yes it is canceled,  but you know by canceling it, were are going to send someone out to arrest you".  I told that I spoke with the Federal Trade Commission and the state General, and the State General's office told me, that if I didn't receive anything from the creditor in the mail, that it's not legal", she proceeded to tell me that they don't know what they are talking about, if your receive one letter in the mail, then that counts", then I told her until I receive an official letter in the mail from the creditor, and verify that this is a legit creditor, I'm not paying a thing, she still proceeded to say that I was going to be arrested, and I told her the state attorney's office said, and then she cut me off and sad "I don't care what they say", the she still was nasty and said "Get off her Phone".  If this company is a legit company, which I asked  Ms. Fisher what does NSL stand for, and she said "Nothing, that is the official name.  They were don't right ignorant, they gave me a case number, but it sound like Ms. Fisher, and Gibbons was the same person, and then I heard someone in the background

I just finished reporting them to Consumer affairs

Please beware.  They called me said they were Litigation Services collecting for Citibank Mastercard. Number was 323-300-5792 ext 223, man's name was Steve Cash. Gave me a Mastercard number said I owed $15K.  Said I had to pay at least a third of it by tomorrow before it went to court. Had all my info, address, phone and SOCIAL!!!!! What the heck?!?! I don't have anything EVER from Citibank on my credit report. I called them and they said the account number Steve Cash gave me doesn't exist and never did!!!! I'm terrified of what they are going to do next.  Have to report it with the district attorney in the morning and have added a fraud tag to my credit report and set it to notify me of any activity.  Any other suggestions of how to better protect myself from what they might do?

Thanks.
