7 pm phone call from 323-951-1066.  Caller ID says :UNAVAILABLE.  wanted to play with them a bit...so I answered, and said nothing...I heard someone on the other end....I waited..(still saying nothing).....then they hung up up on me. GLAD I FELT LIKE BEING A SMART-A__ TONIGHT!  I am sorry for all the other people that went through crap with this number.  I think I'll go back to NOT ANSWERING when I see "Unavailable"

Keep call my phone every night at 8PM finally blocked this number. Fell for this a couple of years ago and it cost me $125.00 not falling for this again.  If I have a issue with my security I contact Norton. And they have always been prompt correcting the issue for me.

IT Pro Advice
Some guy with a heavy Indian accent called stating that he was calling from Imed Global Solutions and that he was calling on behalf of Microsoft to report that they had detected some security threats on my computer.  Now, Imed Global is actually a legitimate company in NJ, but I knew this was a scam call right away because I am an IT professional with more than two decades worth of experience (also working on my doctorate) and I know for a fact that there are no problems with any of my computers.  These scammers basically spoof the phone number that shows up on your caller ID so you cannot return their call, and they will tell you that they are with whatever company they feel like; it is all a lie.

Their whole purpose is to trick you into letting them get access to your computer so they can install viruses, hacking tools, spyware, etc. and then charge you money to fix problems.  DON'T FALL FOR THEIR TRICK!  Do not give them any information, hang up on them and block the number of you can.  If you have your phone number listed on the FTC do not call list, you can report it to them, but in all likelihood the FTC will not be able to do anything as these scammers spoof the numbers and are outside of the U.S. so cannot be touched by US laws (although, it would be nice to think a cruise missile could reach them).

Stay smart: Never let anyone remote onto your computer unless you initiate the call to a verified tech support line.  Also, as a general rule, do not give out your IDs, passwords, personal information, banking info, ATM or credit card info, social security numbers, etc. to anyone over the phone.
