Got a call from 323-951-1066 Wanted me to turn on my computer and basically give them remote access (Windows key and R at the same time) to remove the over 3000 viruses that they detected on my computer! They told me they were with Microsoft Windows. When I tasked them which computer, they could not tell me which of the seven in my home office. I was transferred to a "supervisor" to verify the legitimacy of the call. Gave me a huge Computer license ID...and then threatened me that if I didn't do this, my computer would crash in an hour!
I am a Charter Employee. Pressing the Windows + R keys do NOT give control of a PC to someone else. That brings up a RUN window. It's the easiest way to access Command Prompt.
