I gave him my relatives number he called and got spotted.
Called in the morning, called me by my nickname. Said he was my cousin, and gave the nickname of my actual cousin. Said he was in San Diego and on his way and needed the address to surprise my mom. Called back two hours later that he got a flat tire, lost control of the car, and got in a car accident. He hit a family and with a child in the car. Called back asking for me to talk to the person he hit about his credibility. This person then told me that my "cousin" gave him 500 to cover the deductible the guy was going to have to pay, to his insurance. He was short 950 bucks, but that he didn't want to call the cops. Passed the phone back to my "cousin" and said that his insurance was expired, so I told him to call his insurance company to renew his policy. He said it would be much faster if I western unioned the money. I told him to give me the information of the car, make ND model, policy number and information to call the insurance company. Told him id go down there personally, and if he can tell me the address hes at or offramp and ill send a friend over to help him. He stayed silent. I got a call from a random number whose ID was from France but when I answered, it was a male talking in Spanish claiming to be my cousin. I didn't recognize the voice and he kept insisting that it was my cousin who I hadn't seen for a while from México. I only have 2 who I hadn't seen and I mentioned his name and he said it was him. He told me he had fixed his visa and was planing on coming to the US to pass the holidays (Christmas) and that he wanted to spend it with us. He then asked for my parents number which I gave since I believed it really was him. At this point I'm in school studying for finals so hentold me he'd call me later. I get home and tell my mom and she said he called her but he doubted him because he sounded way off. He told her that he was going to leave Mexico tonight and be at O'hare's airport tomorrow morning and he would be staying at a hotel. He told her that as soon as he arrived he was coming to our house to say hi. However he told her he'd call her on the morning. Lucky we have that "supposed cousin" on fb and we tell him to call us so we could pick him up. My real cousin replies by saying he never called and that he doesn't even have a visa. My mom received a phone call last night from a man claiming to be a cousin my mom continue the conversation until she figured something was not right. So she told the man that she didn't recognize the voice and he was not her cousin. He insisted he was so my mom hanged up. Today my mom received same called again and told the man she will notify the police dept. The man said really, so my mom got scared and hang up. My sister called to change her number since they were all frik up. I told them that I recognized the area code since is from Jalisco so I sure when on line and saw this web page and found out about all kinds of scams. I immediately notify my mom and brothers so they are aware.
