I answered this one. A robot tells you its the last day to lower your credit card interest rate. I then pressed one to speak to a representative. He didn't know my name. He said he represented capitol one, chase, and some other companies. I asked him to take me off his call list. He tried to explain that he worked for my credit card company. I asked him what account number he had on file that qualified for a lower rate. He said my visa. I don't have a Visa. I requested a second time to be put on a do not call list. He called me a stupid guy and hung up. I'm guessing its a phishing scam to get social security numbers and mothers maiden names so they can open up cards under your name. Do not give them anything.
Do what I do, go to Walmart, go to the boating section and buy an Attwood Signal Horn(air horn). I have the air horn and headphone ear protection sitting by my phone 24 hours a day just for this kind of fun. I have probably blasted the ears off 1000 telemarketer scammers.
Got a call from this unknown number (337-319-8512 from Lafayette, LA) yesterday and did not answer. Getting a million of these calls the past couple of years. I keep blocking numbers and these predators keep using new ones. When I receive a call from an area that I don't expect (such as Lafayette, LA), I often check this site to confirm that it is yet another scam. Thanks to everyone for posting on this site!
