I just missed a call from them because I was working, so I'm glad y'all posted here because I am always curious when I miss a call. What do they get out of this? Do people give them a credit card number to pay to have their computer "fixed" or something? Are there people that actually fall for this kind of thing still? I'm thinking my 73 year old mom wouldn't even fall for it and she is petrified of her computer going down since she uses it to communicate with everyone. I don't get people!
Same caller same scenario said he was with a Microsoft tech team. Said I could fix the problem m y self when I asked for instructions he said he would need to remain on the phone so he could fix my computer I hung up
My sister received a call from this number... Unfortunately, she fell for the scam. The guy said his name is Dennis with GF Tech Inc. Her computer is now in the hands of a legitimate computer technician who will hopefully sort out any potential issues. "Dennis" has continued to call her several times; when she didn't answer he again accessed her computer remotely, according to the tech who now has her computer. Scary. Get these scammer calls all the time. I started just taking the phone off of the hook putting it on speaker and setting ins large glass bowl face down, the feedback starts real shrill then ends up with a stacoto sound, like a police care or emergency vehicle, also used two pananasonic phone ear piece to mouth piece to ear piece, that has the very best loud sound effect. Takes em over a week to get around to calling me back. That seems to be the most effective so far. We have blocked over three hundred numbers and they still call with new numbers to block. Our crap phone calls are now down too about two to three a week vs ten or more every miserable day. I think the feedback loop has been most effective. Seems to make em slam the phone down more often. Yes I sometimes hear someone slam somthing down, it's music to my delicate ears.
He called me and said the same thing... that my computer reported to their computer and I needed to get in front of my computer and fix it. I told him I was busy. I just tried to dial that number and it says that the number can't be dialed. So I blocked the call.....
