Just got a call from this # about my commuter has a virus, that's funny cause I don't own a computer, I use my phone for all my internet needs!!! Total Scammers NEVER give anyone your info over the phone like that, a ligit company doesn't do that so please don't give anyone access to your computer!!
Someone claiming to be Michael Paul from Windows 7 service center called asking me to turn on my computer. It was very difficult to understand him as he had a very thick accent, as if from India. He said he was in Brooklyn NY. I am on the "do not call registry" and this call sounded pretty fishy to me.
Just got the same call from Daniel Jones who said he is with Windows Technical Department and that my computer is broadcasting my information. It came in as a private caller so I asked how I can verify that he is in fact with Windows. He gave me the 347-227-6900 number and said I can call back and ask for him. Which, of course, verifies nothing other than I can call him back, whoever he may be. NOT
I received a call today from someone saying they were from Windows helpline and that my computer was being hacked. I was uncomfortable and asked for their phone number which they give me as 347-227-6900 which really doesn't identify anything. He said his name was Jack Pearson. He wanted to give me instructions to link my computer with their technical dept. to remove the virus. I had a bad feeling about it so I did not do it.
I received the same call today Friday, December 6th, 2013, saying that someone has hacked my computer. I could not understand them clearly but they said they were from Windows Helpline. I asked for their phone number which they gave me as 347-227-6900. I felt very uncomfortable so I did not go through with what they wanted me to do, which was link my computer to their technical dept. so they could remove the so-called hacking problem. It just did not seem legitimate.
