Just got a call from this # about my commuter has a virus, that's funny cause I don't own a computer, I use my phone for all my internet needs!!! Total Scammers NEVER give anyone your info over the phone like that, a ligit company doesn't do that so please don't give anyone access to your computer!!
Just received a call from an Allen Copper saying that he was a technician from Microsoft and that I must call him as soon as I return home. As mentioned in another comment he had a very heavy accent.
12/16/2013 - Second call from same source. First call was several days ago and had a very bad connection. Like other comments, caller had strong accent. Told me my system was hacked and system corrupted. I asked why my security program did not catch the problem and was told that program was also corrupted. We reached the point where I was told there would be a cost in the range of $70 to $180 depending how much work they would need to do to "solve" my computer problem. I responded that I would have to think about it, fully intending to contact my security program provider. At that point I was given the number 347-227-6900, ext 137, and was told the contacts name was Maxwell Lucas. Out of curiosity, I goggled the phone number and here I am. Needless to say, I will not be calling back.
Its a scam.. The only persons who should be touching your computer is you, your manufacturer, Real Windows support that you have called and/or maybe a real live tech you see face to face!
