Just got a call from this # about my commuter has a virus, that's funny cause I don't own a computer, I use my phone for all my internet needs!!! Total Scammers NEVER give anyone your info over the phone like that, a ligit company doesn't do that so please don't give anyone access to your computer!!
Same thing: same numbers. person was Joan. Caller ID listed it as Private.
When I asked about what was going on, they said they needed me to log into the internet. I told them I was up on three computers at one time, so which one. They couldn't/wouldn't tell me anything, other than about to give me steps to infect my own computer.
guy calls me says i have a virus. says i have a virus and i need to fix my computer i ask him what company he works for and he says windows care in arizona. i tell him i already have an anti virus but he says that my anti virus does not protect from the virus he detects my computer has and that i have been hacked and i need to follow his instructions. by now i smell something fishy. i ask for his number and pretend to go along with him, i hung up the phone and went on google because the call seemed strange. when i google the number it turns out the number is not from arizona but from new york and many others have had the same experience. beware!
I just received a call from this number. The man had a heavy accent and I could bearly understand what he said. I do know he mentioned my computer was sending error messages. He wanted me to go to my computer and he would guide me through. I asked him for his phone number and told him I would call him back.
Just got a call from the same number but claiming they were "PC Service & Repair". Same request to go to my computer and they would help me remove a virus. Strong east Asian accent.
I just received the same phone call..same message..Unable to understand him... Josh Smith..that sounds original!!! Basically the same message...I have an online hacker right now..So I asked for his phone number..gave me this number and ext149.... said to call him back immediately!!!
Somehow..I didn't believe him and found this site..I work for a bank and we are always warning people about this type of call.
