Just got a call from this # about my commuter has a virus, that's funny cause I don't own a computer, I use my phone for all my internet needs!!! Total Scammers NEVER give anyone your info over the phone like that, a ligit company doesn't do that so please don't give anyone access to your computer!!
Just got the same phone call....I called the attorney generals office to report the scam and they told me to report it to the internet crimes department at www.ic3.gov
Rosemarie from Boston, I got a call from a "Michael Paul" also! Either they took some time off (it is now January 8) or scored from some unsuspecting person(s). I am responding only to ask if anybody knows how this can be stopped. Is there a number to call, and more importantly, will it help? It amazes me that innocent private citizens can have their Internet and phones tapped in the name of National Security, while scam artists like this can run rampant.
Received call from "Harry Walker"- very heavy foreign accent- technician # 149 who told me my computer was sending error messages to microsoft windows and I was likely hacked or would be. Asked that I give access to my computer so they can fix the errors. Number to call back was 347-227-6900.
Same scam, Thick accent female(named Sharon??) claiming to be windows service center. Run this yada yada.............. Call came up private, asked for #.
