I got a call today (3/8/13) from guy with a thick dialect...maybe Indian...but the number was "unknown." This was my second call, the other one was yesterday from a woman with a thick dialect. I gave both of them a really hard time because I knew it was a scam! I finally told the guy today that I thought this was a scam and would he remove my name from their call list...which he said he would do (yeah! right!). It really throws them off when you interrupt their "script" to ask questions. I do this about a minute and hang up.
My father just recived the same call, and unfortunatly was convinced to let them access his pc, has anyone any idea what i should look for ? He as AVG and it has found nothing , should I look for any recently installed programs ie today, any help would be good

Second saturday morning in a row I've had a call from these Indian idiots. Both times they said my computer was about to crash. I mean they didn't even say hello we are calling from..he just started off with "Hi, your computer is about to crash". Both times they claimed they were from On-click and were part of Microsoft. Just say no thanks and put the phone down if I were you. The second time they called I said "you've actually called Microsoft's UK office" and I heard a second Indian voice say "hang up, hang up!"
Same story as the others, Indian sounding voice, claiming that his company had been contacted because I had clicked on the "send error report" when something had happened. He had me first go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/Application. He said that Eerror and Warning events that I saw were the result of my computer being infected by spyware. I listened with a bit of an open ear because my computer has been running slowly lately. He then did the bizarre thing of asking me to open up Google on my browser and type in www.supportonclick.com. I did that and his website came up as did several others like this one that gave me the indication that it was probably a scam. I don't know why he didn't just ask me to put that address in the address bar. I was getting suspicious at this point when the supportonclick website came up and the first thing I saw were the prices. I asked him for his number saying that I would consult with my computer person firswt and then get back in touch. he gave me 347-289-3770 and said ask for Andy.
Same thing - name was Nelson and said our computer was running slow. We were suspicious and got his phone number. He caled back every 1-2 hours until I picked up the phone again. They all came up as 'Unknown caller'. He wanted us to go to logmein123.com and was about to give us apin number, but I told him our computer was fine and hung up on him. He also gave us his cell phone: 646-884-9561.
Got same call as others. Foriegn voice, name Wilson, said computer hard drive about to crash, wanted to give me directions to let him fix the problem. I told him my computer did not have a problem and I would not do anything based on him calling me and to give me his number and Company. 347-289-3770 Supportclick.com was the company. I told him I would call back, however, based on checking this number know he is a scam. Catch him if you can.
