I just received a call on my cell phone from
"unknown." I have been receiving the "unknown" call since early August. I decided to answer it. The person said where they were calling from but because of the heavy accent, I was unable to understand what the person was saying. He began saying that they noticed my computer was not getting the Microsoft updates it should be receiving and wanted me to log onto my computer so that they could help me to make sure that I receive the updates. I told him I was not having any problems and asked how they got my cell phone number and where they were calling from because the number comes up as unknown. He proceeded to continue reading the script about me not receiving the updates. I said to him that I don't know who the company he was referring to and needed to have a number show up so that I would know he was calling from a legitimate place. Again, he continued with what appeared to be a script saying why he was calling and what the problem was. When I requested a number so that I could call back, he gave me (347) 535-4547. When I called back to see if the number was legitimate, the phone just rang.

ironically, I did have a problem with windows
questioned where they got my phone number from, and they said my provider
called Optimum, and they said it was a scam!
called micto trend, and they said to beware!
they said that Microsoft, and other big companies would never call!
if i did follow their instructions,i would have had a virus installed remotely !
