one of the four Franks called me today with the same microsoft certified, computer secure systems line of crap. I played along for a little while, letting him think he was dealing with a clueless blonde, then started pushing for a company name, how he received his certification, a supervisor I could speak to, details about what he thought was wrong with my computer and how he got my number, and a telephone number so that I could call back. He stalled and changed his story multiple times before finally giving me this number.
I've been getting calls for more than 2 weeks from "Private Caller". I finally answered just to see who it was, and it was a heavily accented woman claiming my computer wasn't responding to Microsoft updates. I told her to take me off her list and not to call my house again. About an hour later I get the same phone call except it's a heavily accented man this time. I ask his company name (Comp Security) and his phone number (3475354547) then told him I knew this was a scam and I was going to report him. He chuckled and said in mock defeat "ooookaaaay."
An "unavailable" number called saying he was Jack Wills from Comp Secure and my computer wasn't receiving updates properly and wanted me to access a website, www.techinline.net, and he'd correct the problems. I was suspicious and told the man I didn't believe him. He tried giving me his 178"phone number" (347)535-4547 and an ID #1789. I told him this information meant nothing and hung up.
I have received the same phone call last night...I was busy and not very interested in listening to them...They said they would call me back this morning at 9:00 a.m. which they did...I asked for there phone number and did get (347)535-4547...I asked where they were located at...and was told some beach??New York....The man got friustrated with my questions and finally just said: "Fine its your computer...if you don't weant it fixed"... Then he hung up....Pretty pissed about this and the people that are getting taken advantage of!!!!!
