I had the same phone call yesterday by a very rude lady. She asked for an owner or controller in an investigation. I said it was a private residence. She hung up...The number was blocked so I could not trace it. I just was kinda freaked on it. I am glad to see that this is nothing but a scam and will pass it along..
Got a call 11-7-2007 @ 4:00 PM EST- they were looking for owner or Accounts Receivable. Person said their name was Nicole Hammer from Financial Investigations dept of CII Investigations, Inc. Gave a number to call back 866-657-7141
Received a call 12-12-07 @ 11:28am EST from 360-200-4546- the man said he needed to speak to the owner about a financial investigation. I asked who was calling, and all he would say was "Go-getter"? I hung up on him. He immediately called back and asked if we had been disconnected or if I had hung up on him. I said "obviously". He was very unprofessional, and was speaking to other people in the room during our discussion.
These people are insane. They keep calling our business asking for people who don't work there, stating that they're private investigators and that someone there owns them money. When I told here they didn't work there she got rude, cursing in spanish and getting an additude. She wouldn't believe that they weren't there and kept calling over and over. I found a website that had tracked them down after complaints and found out that they're a company called Level 3 (IIC, get it? They're lame.) I don't know WHAT the point of them doing this is, but thier public relations office number is "1-720-888-3356." Feel free to call them and harass them back, they can get a taste of their own medicine and see how they like it.
I received a call from this number also. The "gentleman" that was on the other end was extremely rude, yelling at me that he knew the owner was in and to screamed at me to put him on the phone. When I asked for his supervisor to explain to someone how rude he was; he began yelling at me to speak to my supervisor. I don't know who these people are but they need be stopped by someone; NO ONE should conduct business that way; they should be ashamed of themselves; if someone did owe them or a collection company they are working for I certainly hope no one would pay them and any reputable company who uses them with these tactics should be put out of business also; I believe they are a scam; that should be put out of business.
