I had the same phone call yesterday by a very rude lady. She asked for an owner or controller in an investigation. I said it was a private residence. She hung up...The number was blocked so I could not trace it. I just was kinda freaked on it. I am glad to see that this is nothing but a scam and will pass it along..
Got a call from 360-200-4546 asking for the owner or controller. The caller spoke so fast I could not hear the name. There was also a lot of "buzz" in the background, like other voices in a call center. I asked for the caller to repeat who she was with; all I picked up was some sort of commercial investigations. I told her we did not have time for the call, and said goodbye. Very strange!
This crazy woman called repeatedly asking for the owner. When I told her I was the owner she said "No you're not." To which I curtly replied "How do you know that? You don't even know who I am." She said "Oh, I just know." And then asked for a bunch of people who didn't work there. When I said "Listen you idiot, those people don't even work here" She started yelling in spanish, at which point I laughed at her and hung up. I had no idea who this was, she wouldn't tell me -- until I found this website. At least now I know. Don't you wish that the phone company would just BLOCK numbers you ask them to?
So yesterday we got a call from this guy and after hanging up on him (they have been bugging us for over a year and a half) 5 or 6 times within about 4 minutes I finally tried to speak with the gentleman and find out what it is he needed from us. He wouldn't give me his name and was so very very condescending with me that I eventually hung up on him and proceeded to just pick up and hang up the phone. So after tracing it back to Level 3 Communications (www.level3.com)I called the HR Rep, Vice President and one other person and left messages with them. This morning I got a call back from a woman named Kimberly. She said that she got a message from someone saying the same thing I did, but they didn't leave their number so she couldn't call them back. I found out that they only provide the infrastructure for phone lines and that other companies (AT&T, Verizon, etc...) purchase them from them so it is not anyone from their company that is calling but a regular customer. She then said that she will track down the number and the person and see what they can do and that she would let me know what happens with that. I highly suggest people give her a call and let them know. LEAVE YOUR NUMBER so they can call you back. The more information they have, the better. You can get their number off of the website.
