Received 2nd automated message informing me that this will be my final notification that I am being sued by the IRS. This time the # that the call came from now comes up as unknown, but the # to call back for more info is 360 205 3728. Prank call was the closest, but they should have a felony classification for impersonating a federal agency to commit a crime.
This is a SCAM, pretending to be the IRS. The IRS website makes it clear they will NOT call to threaten arrest or demand immediate payment. I filed a complaint through the IRS website, and hope others receiving this call will, too. This is the second time I've gotten this exact same call, and the 4th time I've gotten fake IRS calls. (The other two were from a different number.) I don't understand why the IRS can't track them down through the phone number they leave. Please let your elderly family members and friends know about this ongoing scam, as they may not think to question the call's validity or to look up the number online.
Received numerous calls re IRS lawsuit against me. If this were really true, why were they so prompt in sending my income tax refund? Seems they would have confiscated those funds. My elderly neighbor also received these same type of calls from the "IRS" for taxes due on monies that she would receive after she paid the taxes first. I intercepted the calls and spoke to a very thick accented Indian person from the "IRS" whose name was "Milton". I pretended to be my neighbor using an Indian accent and after playing gullible and excitement, I got his info as to where to send the money to him. I then told him to "stop the B***S***" informed him that I knew this was a scam and to never call this number again. They had threatened to call the police on my neighbor so I informed him that I had already called them. He abruptly hung up.
