Good to know. This company called from a number one digit different than my home number before. Same line, same modus operendi. I answered and got to talk to 'Kimberly' once and 'Kevin' the next time. They were really quick on the hang up when I didn't respond with the 'expected come back'. I called the number back and got the legitimate owner of the number and he confirmed that several people had been calling him about the scammers. He was very apologetic, so I let him off easy. I always report these calls to the DNC complaint website. I make my comments to the DNC use up as much of the 1000 character limit as possible. Another tactic would be to get the information about the number and send an email to the Attorney General's office of the state. The more government agencies that we can get working on this, the more chances of finding and stopping these scammers.
They identified themselves as "NAMBLA", which I Googled. This is a disgusting thing. They asked if I had and young boys that would be interested in making a little extra cash. If you know where this number is calling from, get in touch with me and I will stop it permanently.
This company calls numbers on the National Do Not Call registry (in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act) and plays a recorded message with no operator on the line (also in violation of the TCPA). They are offering a guaranteed reduction in your credit card interest rates. This is clearly a scam as they have already violated the law twice. Do not provide these phishers with any personal information!
I have heard the same voice and the same message many times:
"Press one now to find the terms, conditions, and associated conditions before the next biiing cycle. Again this is your final notice. So press one now...."
I DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEIR FREQUENT REPETITION
UNDERMINES ANY CREDIBILITY OF THE MERIT OF THEIR PROPOSAL AND THE FACT THAT IS NOT REALLY A"FINAL NOTICE OF ANYTHING."
