Calls and asks if I have $3,000 in debt. When I asked what company I was speaking to, a woman name RACHEL hung up on me! Shame on you scammers! What you are doing is illegal Rachel!
Recording announces my current card is in good standing, but my eligibility is soon coming to a close for taking advantage of lowering my APR (to as low as 6.9%).
Prompts are given to (A) Ignore call and ask not to be bothered (tried that in the past, doesn't work) OR (B) Press "1" to speak to a live representative.
I selected second option.
Woman (customer service rep or CSR) picks up and does not bother to identify herself.. just starts asking "Do you currently owe 3000 dollars on your credit card balance?"
ME: "Yep.. I certainly do... much more than that, so I am very eager to take advantage of your offer."...
CSR: Okay.. we will need some more information.
ME: "Terrific... I'm all for cooperation. You can ask me anything you want....but please forgive me if I have to ask you to repeat yourself... the plate in my head makes it difficult to hear things...and sometimes it interferes with reception... Breaker Breaker.. Is that you, Highway Hank?"... "I'm sorry, what do you need to know?"
CSR: "Uh, first I'll need your name.
ME: My name, you say? Sure, it's "Ed Woecjikonozinsakelevic"......... Would you like me to spell it for you?
CSR: "Yes"
ME: Okay.. "that's E as in Eulogy and D as in Discombobulated"
CSR: Uh.. that I figured, but how you spell the last name?
ME: You want me to spell the last name?
CSR: Yes!
ME: okay "That's T like Tse-Tse fly, H like Honorarium, E like Eulogy, L like the second L in Llama, A as in Aesthetic, S as in ...
CSR: No... Don't spell "The Last Name".. I mean YOUR last name!
ME: Aren't you getting a little personal. You didn't give me your last name. I mean don't you think it's fair that we both share equally" Are you on Facebook? Maybe we can be friends. What do you look like, anyway? I bet you're a lot taller than you seem on the phone? Oh shoot, I just wet myself again. Could you please hold as I change my diaper?
Got a call from 306-474-3909...the caller ID said "Card Services!"
I answered with "Do not call this number again!" I repeated this phrase until they hung up!
Let's see if that works!
Per Wis Dept of AG, Trade, and Consumer Protection
They advise to not pick up the call, or if you do, hang up immediately, without pressing any buttons.
I got a call from (360) 474-3909 claiming to be "my financial institution" and when I asked for their contact information including a physical address and the name of the bank, the attendant told me to "go to hell" and hung up.
