On July 26, 2012, I got a call from this number. It registered on my caller ID as "Financial Ctr." I did not answer the phone. On today's date, August 15, 2012, I received another call from "Financial Ctr." except this time the number was 503-457-1407. I answered this call. The recording said that this is my final courtesy call to lower my credit card rate to 6%; all I need is $3,000 in credit card debt and one card in good standing. It also said they have tried to contact me several times and that this is my final call for my yearly credit card review.
The automated recording did not give a key to press to be removed from their list; It said "Press 1 if you are interested in lowering your credit card debt..." So I pressed 1 and got a woman who said "So i understand you are interested in lowering your credit card payments?" I said, "No, but I understand I want to be removed from your call list." Before I could finish my sentence, she hung up on me!
If you get a call from "Financial Ctr" on your caller ID, DO NOT ANSWER!
I have done this several times already and every time they hang up on me. How am I to get off this list!???
Same as everyone here - just wanted to add my issue to the list in case anyone checks it.
We received a call - at dinnertime of course - with a vaguely threatening automated message that we had failed to respond to all previous calls" and that this was our last opportunity to correct a serious credit card problem. It was important to press 1 to speak to a representative to avoid damaging our credit.
I knew it was a scam from the message, but pressed 1 to tell them we're on the "Do Not Call" list (evidently, that doesn't mean anything) and ask to be removed from their list. The representative answered saying that he understood I wanted to learn about credit consolidation. He never gave the name of the company, and when I started "No, we're on the do not call list and..." he hung up on me.
Tried to do a reverse lookup so I can report the company's violation of the DNC list, but it seems you can't do that through a free Internet search anymore.
Just received the same call as everyone else. I too am on the DNC list. I either get phone calls or emails stating my bank account need updating. mostly bank of american and also watch for verizon cell phone
stating bill is past due for a few thousand dollars asks you to open link and then BAM !!! they have all
your info. DONOT OPEN ANY EMAILS FORWARD TO INSTITUTE THEY WILL HANDLE IT>
I too have been getting phone calls from these people (anywhere from 3-4 times a day this past week), and if you're right in saying these are financial services wanting to "lower interest rates" on credit card, I'd like to know how they got my number, I don't own any credit cards and don't want to own any, so why am I being called? I guess the DNC list really doesn't work. I always look up the numbers that I don't recognize, as I don't answer them at all.
caller id shows: 3604743986, then lists the number under it as 360-474-3986 didn't even know where the area code 360 was until I read up on here.
