This number is continuing to call me like crazy along with 3 other numbers. I stayed on the line to talk to an operator and they asked if I was going thru a foreclosure, I said No but I want you guys to stop calling me and THEY HUNG UP ON ME! I called back and pressed 1 to be taken off the calling list, which said it would take 72 hours but its been well over 72 hrs and I'm still getting calls.
This must be a company that monitors PUBLIC RECORDS. I received the first call from them yesterday at 5:04 PM (SoCal time) and it was a recording asking if I "just lost my house to foreclosure and would like to remain in it for 6 - 9 months. There's evidence your 'trustee' did not follow foreclosure laws for your state, and by talking with us at once, you could have the sale rescinded." The recording was instructing me to press 5 to NOT accept, or press 8 to talk with a specialist at once. Message then states, "Our attorney's have been helping clients just like you for over 30 years;" and then once again, instructed to press 8 NOW!
Oddly enough, I DID have my home foreclosed on yesterday! Bank opened bidding at 10:30 AM with their bid; the sale was to end at 5:00 PM, and it did, and there were no other bids so bank owns it. This number called 5 times last night, however, I receieved a total of 21 calls between 5:04 & 9:10 PM all having LOAN MOD DEPT as caller ID, and a total of 6 different area codes. Apparently, there must be some new way to scam persons who are most likely at an all time 'low' in their life, and if not the same company doing this, then multiple people are looking to make a fast buck off the vulnerable.
Incredibly sad that we've LOST ALL PRIVACY in this country. Further, the Do Not Call list is a hoax, complaints to the FCC are not resulting in any action, the state Office of the Attorney General, and the BBB do not appear helpful (or interested) in hearing about some "random phone calls I have been getting." On the brighter side, I look at this annoyance as a measure that ensures my cell phone is still working, and/or that nobody has yet come to take that from me too... ha ha ha
