I received a call at 10:05am and I am on the east coast from a Washington State number - which would be 7am their time. Message was cut off but same as other posters - call about case number and left the phone number.

Received a call from 360-566-2212. A female recorded voice stating that the IRS is filing a law suit against me & to call back 370-566-2212. I have not called back!!!! Obviously a scam, a lot of people are getting this call, can't something be done to stop this????
I received a phone call from this number today with the same message as everyone else. I see people wonder why the IRS hasn't shut them down. It's because new ones start up on a daily basis and if they went after all of these jokers - who are usually in other countries and face little or no consequences- that's all they'd spend their time doing. They do, however, keep up with these creeps on their website. It is sad because they randomly dial numbers or have a sucker list available. The number you see may not be the real number they are calling from. There are programs out there which allow the user to steal other phone numbers and make phone calls appear they are coming from that number but in reality are coming from a different number- and it is perfectly legal. They are called spoof apps.
