I received a call at 10:05am and I am on the east coast from a Washington State number - which would be 7am their time. Message was cut off but same as other posters - call about case number and left the phone number.
I might add, if you have an elderly family member, please make them aware of this as they are easy prey for these thieves. Or at least, please monitor them and keep an eye on their financials.

I got the same recorded female voice stating the irs was filing a law suit against me. I do admit that i held my breath for a moment as i just paid the irs almost $5,000 this june for the biggest mistake i made in my taxes (talk about adding wrong)! But to the unsuspecting out there the irs does not come across your caller id as "unavailable" they are not ashamed to let you know that it is them! I did not respond ---- and neither should you! If you must call your accountant or call h&r block but do not call that number !!!
