Expect most numbers that appear on your ID to be masked, making it unwise to return the calls. A quick hang up could be a computer calling simply looking for numbers with an answer. Try getting a blocking device or simply shut down any answering device and ignore all unknown numbers.
I have been getting calls about every day from this number for quite a while and haven't been answering since I have caller ID and don't recognize the number. However, I have answered twice - last time about ten minutes ago and whoever is on the line won't say anything. I cannot block out of area calls but this is truly a nuisance. What can be done to stop them?
Answered this call, thinking it was a call from ATT, which I was expecting. CID says Florida Call. A foreign sounding person told me her name was Rachel and that they were conducting a survey. She asked if I had smoke detectors in my home, I told her that yes we did, said thank you and hung up. Their number is getting blocked.
Caller ID says "Florida Call". Since I don't have any friends with that name, I didn't answer. Of course no message and number will now be blocked... list getting longer and longer. Who answers the phone if the number is not known... oh yeah, my Mom still does this... sheesh.
On Sunday, during the course of a day these "people" called 5 times, even after being told NOT to call the number again, I am trying to locate who this number belongs to so I can report them and what their staff is doing to people. They are rude, ignorant, and intolerable. They have absolute NO respect for the human race...and yes, the guy was foreign.
