This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, etc. all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Company posing as a pre-trial service company trying to collect a pay day loan that I never did make. Said I took out a payday loan for $1000 in 2010. All they could provide me with was a very old email address and mailing address from 2006. They said the client was going to have my license taken away and threatened to sue. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!
I received a call from this company claiming I have outstanding debt and they are calling from pre trial services. First they don't start with this is an attempt to collect a debt, when ask questions they hang up.
This is a scam. They have called us from many different numbers. They will pretend to be a legal service most likely for a payday loan(that never existed). All they have done is steal information and try and use it against you with threats of arrest and a lawsuit. It will never happen. They will state they are coming to your place of employment but once again it will never happen. Remember people this is not a legitimate debt collector. They are criminals who if caught will go to jail.
Repeated calls to home and cell phone. using my maiden name. last one said they were a pre-trial processing center and would be appearing at my home or work to serve me but I could resolve it over the phone with the payday loan company before that. phone call before that wanted me to pay the payday loan company $1068.00 to resolve it without going to trial. Had my maiden name and the bank name for an account I had over 11 years ago.
