just answered a call from this # as i was reading what others had posted. they asked to talk to parents of my high school age daughter said she had attended a college prep class or gone on a scholarship website and i told him she had not done such a thing. he asked me if i wanted to be placed on a do not call list and seemed very nice about it but we will see..... they have been calling for the past week a couple times a day so we will see if the calls stop.
Unfortunately our children's names are available publicly through the school yearbooks which are widely available. All the scamsters have to do is pick out all the sophomores and juniors and do a little googling. It stinks
Received the call and was given a 2 min sales pitch for $169 SAT software for my daughter who signed up for an SAT during this past summer. The sales lady never once did ask me if I would like to buy it of if I would be interested in the software but using slight word trickery/leading questions like asking for my address verification (which she had correct), she assumed I was going to buy it right there and then by trying to lead me on...but I was to smart for that. I told them my child already has a SAT computer software program and I told them to send me some info via email so I can see what it is fully about before I make a decision as in this day and economic times, who is going to pull $169 dollars out of thin air...no matter what the reason.
