I checked around. This phone number is 'called' Tea Party Patriots. Apparently they don't have anything to do with the 'tea party'. The common characteristic among the call recipients is that someone in the household (or the address) might have voted for the Republicans (GOP) in one of the last 2 elections. So this number (group) is being used to harass these people till they get fed up with the Tea Party and stop supporting it.
I can't get more information to find out if this is a Democratic funded scammer or someone doing it on his own funds to try help the Democrats.
Remember the IRS!
Maybe, this is a variant on the same kind of harassment.
If it is really the Tea Party calling, they would wait to talk to you about their cause and ask for your support or at least, for a donation. This number just calls till you want to pull your hair out. No other intent behind it.
Called my cell today - thanks to all posters - appreciate the info. I have phone on silent during work and NEVER answer unknown numbers anyway. Ya wanna get me to call you, leave a message. No message, it's a junk call as far as I'm concerned. If it is Tea Party - I'll donate if and when I want to but never by phone.
They call several times a day. Best thing to do is answer and then just lay the phone down.
That way they waste their time picking up and will scratch you off the list.

They provide fund raising services for political and other organizations.
They call me everyday. I have now blocked their number.
