I checked around. This phone number is 'called' Tea Party Patriots. Apparently they don't have anything to do with the 'tea party'. The common characteristic among the call recipients is that someone in the household (or the address) might have voted for the Republicans (GOP) in one of the last 2 elections. So this number (group) is being used to harass these people till they get fed up with the Tea Party and stop supporting it.
I can't get more information to find out if this is a Democratic funded scammer or someone doing it on his own funds to try help the Democrats.
Remember the IRS!
Maybe, this is a variant on the same kind of harassment.
If it is really the Tea Party calling, they would wait to talk to you about their cause and ask for your support or at least, for a donation. This number just calls till you want to pull your hair out. No other intent behind it.
After receiving 10 calls over the past two days with no message left, I decided to pick up. The caller is soliciting for the Tea Party Patriots (TPP on the caller id) Wants a small donation of $200.00. I told her no and that I had no money to give. Asked for a smaller donation which I again said no. The caller was not offensive and rude like many can be, but all these political donation calls are annoying none the less.
My phone only takes messages. I only take hard mail copies that I can check out to see if they are really official and ask my friends about the same. Can never tell who is really on the end of that line, nor who you are looking at in skype, nor if that charity or organization in the mail is real anymore. We have so many wonderful ways of communication. It is too bad that it has become an abuse and one becomes fearful of their use. I think one day technology will come up with a solution to resolve this waste of time, money and resouces. In the mean time, they can continue to do what they do.
They're calling on my cell phone - I have programmed the number to go straight to voice mail, so now I never even have to hear my phone ring when they try to call. Works like a charm!
