I checked around. This phone number is 'called' Tea Party Patriots. Apparently they don't have anything to do with the 'tea party'. The common characteristic among the call recipients is that someone in the household (or the address) might have voted for the Republicans (GOP) in one of the last 2 elections. So this number (group) is being used to harass these people till they get fed up with the Tea Party and stop supporting it.
I can't get more information to find out if this is a Democratic funded scammer or someone doing it on his own funds to try help the Democrats.
Remember the IRS!
Maybe, this is a variant on the same kind of harassment.
If it is really the Tea Party calling, they would wait to talk to you about their cause and ask for your support or at least, for a donation. This number just calls till you want to pull your hair out. No other intent behind it.
Maybe you should have read the fine print when you signed up on the do not call list. You would have learned that non profits and political groups are exempt from the DNC list.
1 4048915541 keeps calling me from somewhere around Atlanta Georgia-Please stop this caller-I am overseas and receiving this call-I never answer-seems to be some robo call as it arrives the same time every day or so it seems-
TPP calls once or twice every day in the last month without leaving a message. Noticed my new Panasonic cordless phone has a "Call Block" option where you can enter a phone number to be blocked. Entered 1-404-891-5541 today.
This is a great feature if it works, because it's extremely annoying to keep getting these senseless calls without a way to stop them. Will report back if it works!
