Got a call from this number and did not answer it. Later called the number back and got a recording that said. "This was a telemarketing call. If you do not want these calls, and wish to be placed on "OUR" Do Not Call list, press 1." I pressed one. Then the recorded voice asked that I enter my 10 digit phone number. I hesitated, because I figured this would just confirm my number to them. On the other hand, I'd like to take a chance on not being called again. So I gave them the number.
Can't get any worse than it is now, right? With telemarketing calls coming to my Do Not Call registered cell phone about 8 times a week. (Started with Once every 3 weeks, and I never answered or called back, and over the course of months, it has escalated, so what do I have to lose?)
Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008. Read more about it at http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2008/04/dncfyi.shtm.
