I got a call from 404-895-5538. I didn't answer it.
I came here to check it out.
I have Comcast Phone, and you can go on your account and fwd up to 12 numbers to go to a different number. I send them to a non working number. :)
These people are fishing for your credit card number and ot her information. I just ask "YOU WANT TO GIVE ME A CREDIT CARD, THATS GREAT NOBODY ELSE WOULD " then I tell them "I DON'T KNOW WHERE I WOULD USE IT BECAUSE I AM NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS. I usually have a good laugh at the end. DON'T GIVE THESE DOPES ANY INFORMATION!!
I received the same call just now. I pressed 9 thinking it was my actual credit card company. I didn't give them my cc number because it just didn't sound right. They blabbed something about the consumer protection act to retort. As if some law ever stopped anyone from stealing! lol... yeah right. I just politely allowed "Maurice" to keep talking and hung up. Then I googled and found this post. I also tried to call the number back, not a working line. This is such a SCAM. ugh... I wish I had googled while on the phone! lol... that would have been something!
This call just hung up and i called back they hung up, i called back again, they hung up. i did this about 50x until maybe they get the hint or it is a computer doing it. very stupid.
Usually I just hang up. This time I hit 9 and asked to have me removed from their list. He hung up. Ok we can [***] here, but who do we need to pass this along to for an official reaction?
