My English not so good. This person wanted to know I need my DSL changed. I tell them NO, I was born a MALE I want to stay Male. If I change my mind I will move somewhere like LA or NYC where they do that sort of thing.
No I'm pretty sure this is a scam. No message left. It doesn't look like a legit AT&T number, and quite frankly, they solicit me through the mail, not over the phone. AT&T also contacts me through email. Bottom line: my bill is current, I'm not having issues, so I'm not answering any shady calls.
Calls from this number several times a day, ID: Att Svc Cnt. No message left. IF it is ligit, I would think a message would be left explaining the offer, problem, etc.
To those of you who are defending the calls as legitimate: phone numbers can be SPOOFED. That is, scammers can make any number that they want show up on your caller ID box. It means nothing per se. I'm 60 years old and have never gotten an unsolicited call from AT&T. If you read some of the descriptions above, it's obvious that scammers are spoofing this number. Furthermore, some of the people defending the calls above might be the scammers themselves, trying to get you to believe that the calls are legit.

Received a call from 404-975-1637 CID ATT SVC CTR went ahead and answered since we were having problems with our phone line and had recently had the problem resolved. After I answered I heard people in the background talking and then the guy finally started talking and his English was as good as mine (otherwise not a foreigner) but, as soon as he said Internet I hung up. We just started answering after we see CID and just hanging back up not even saying hello what's the point. Sometimes I actually answering to see what they say (maybe 15 secs. worth) and then hang up. Hoping they may get a clue even though I know the won't.
It turns out the 404-975-1637 is a legitimate vendor of AT&T. I called 877-999-0647 which is the customer service number listed on my AT&T monthly statement that we receive in the mail. Yes we still get our phone bill as a paper statement (not an internet notice). The purpose of the call is to encourage those AT&T customers that have the DSL service to upgrade to U-verse (fiber optic lines) to improve speed and because they will stop maintaining the DSL sometime in the future. But because the vendor was so unpolished in his sale, we thought it was a case of potential identify theft. I suggested to the AT&T customer service employee that AT&T supply the 404 number in the monthly mail statement so that other customers can recognize that this is a legitimate business phone call.
